HOW TO MAKE LIBRARY BOOK CARE FUN!

Fun and engaging ideas to make library book care fun! Your students will learn about how to take care of books with these simple lessons, activities, and games.

If you ask most students if they know how to take care of books, they usually say yes. But….when you go over book care tips for home, many look surprised because they’ve never even considered some of your rules. Can you relate?

This is your cue to get into their little minds early in the year. Later in the year when they tell you they put their book on a high shelf (away from their dog or toddler), it will make your heart melt! Book care is one of the most rewarding library topics I teach.💗

Although book care is such an important topic, it can be really boring for kids. That’s why I created some resources to make it a bit more exciting!

Interactive Book Care Lessons for Libraries

If you’re looking for a no-prep lesson that keeps students engaged, look no further! The Book Care Slideshow Lesson explains basic tips and has a mini-quiz at the end to check for understanding. If you prefer a different format, you can check out the Book Care Boom Cards.

The *BEST SELLING* Book Care Guessing Game is even more interactive! Students look at a zoomed-in image and try to guess the book care rule. Why not do the slideshow as your first lesson, and follow up with the guessing game during a later lesson?

Library Book Care Poster Display Ideas & Activities
